"It was a stimulating and productive gathering with
excellent presentations by off-island as well as on-island professionals
and colleagues. It was a pleasure to be in their company and to be
given an opportunity to share my ideas and experiences as well as learn
a lot about this product, Cultural Tourism. I would be more happy
to participate in future endeavors to realize the goals and objective of
the conference."
-Janet Cook-Rutnik

COMMENTS
Conference was good at:
Communicating the value of cultural heritage tourism, bringing cultural
bearers together, education and training, opportunity to
network/participation and dialogue, defining eco-tourism
Suggestions for Conference:
More publicity, form sub-committees, share all information with all
organizations, PSA's on TV/Radio about Humanities Council, include a
focus on how natural resources (reefs & trees) relate to humans on
islands
Actions attendees will take:
Promote authenticity in my own organization, volunteer, implement
services in my business to promote tourism, work to develop an
international film festival, will work harder to educate the youth of
their history, culture, and heritage
Conference could have been improved by:
Local panelists being prepared and on tape, venue more accessible to the
public, more time for questioning, more commitment to action steps;
strategic planning, more of open discussion, round table, townhouse
